Local residents complete parent institute

 

LEXINGTON, KY— Area residents Melissa Austin, Jessica Berry, Catherine Burnett, Lucy Mae Butler, Vivian Coles, Sonya Combs, Mindy Curless, Barbara Dixon, Liz Doss-Patterson, Ronea Fowler, Kristi Gabbard, Carol Gibson, Paul Gill, Erica Greene, Felicia Horton, Raviya Ismail, Tracy Lovan, Nancy McKenzie, Isabelle Mack-Overstreet, Susan Malik, Brian Miller, Stacey Rearic, Lisa Anne Satin, Terri Stevenson, Kirk Tinsley, Michelle Whitaker, and Rosha Williams have completed training for the Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership.

The Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership, a program of The Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, prepares parents to work toward higher achievement for all public school students. The institute seeks to create a new level of parent engagement in our schools and is working with the One Community One Voice initiative in Fayette County to achieve this goal. Institute graduates commit to design and implement projects to improve student achievement and increase parent involvement in their schools.
